Pelwehera Village Resort is owned by a first generation entrepreneur Sujeewa Palliyaguruge, recipient of many local and national awards for excellence in business management.
Sujeewa believes in a personalised service - providing his guests the comfort of being waited upon in a homely environment. His business pursuits are all focussed on tourism and geared to provide rest and recreation for the visitors.
Amongst his many business activities is a special project aimed at providing local craftsmen and women an opportunity to continue their trade. about 650 jewellery makers of Galle and Matara, engage in their traditional occupation with gold and precious gem stones provided by Sujeewa. These craftsmen are paid for their artistry and a regular income is guaranteed. Sujeewa's farsight and initiative keeps alive the once thriving trade of hand crafted jewellery.
Warm and hospitable, Sujeewa employs professionals to manage the key departments, but takes a personal interest in the management of the Resort. His work ethic and commitment to enterprise is reflected in the service excellence provided by the staff at Pelwehera Village Resort.

At Palwehera Village Resort we are committed to seeing tourism give back to local communities. This provides our guests with a better holiday experience because they have the peace of mind knowing that some very worthy people will be benefiting from their trip. Our close relationship with our neighbors also lets us provide more authentic experiences. For sight-seeing trips we enlist locals who rent out their jeeps, and you'll be able to see locally produced products decorating our hotel. We also give preference to small and medium scaled businesses around the region when purchasing hotel supplies. Feel satisfied knowing that we are supporting the use of tourism to encourage local development.
