Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

They have launched a program to help uplift and develop the local village school ‘Kandegama' through generous contributions made by the guests who stay at Corbet's View. This In turn will provide local children with better standards of education.

Corbet's View is also part of a pilot project undertaken by University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka to establish indigenous plant species in the grasslands of Knuckles Conservation Area.

They seek to have as little impact as possible on the environment by ensuring all project and building materials are purchased from local suppliers where possible. They also use recyclable materials, low-energy light bulbs, and biodegradable products when possible. They also provide education about how to minimise the negative impacts they can have on the environment
