Is an active participant in local cultural celebrations and is proactive in pursuing the employment of staff from the local community.

The management assigns special staff during the Perehera season in Kandy to help the Temple of the Tooth Perehera organising committee - a major cultural celebration. The hotel plays a main role when the sacred "Kandy Perehera" comes into play. A contribution is made to the Dalada Maligawa once a year during the Perehera (pageant) season in order to make the event a success. Also a special annual almsgiving is arranged by the hotel management.

The hotel recruits almost all the hotel staff from the neighbouring regions. This opens an ideal way for young blood to develop a successful career in the hospitality industry, which is recognised internationally.
